shipping and handling

Shipping costs are determined by weight at standard UPS rates, plus $7.50 handling. Multiple pieces will be boxed together to save costs where applicable. In stock items are shipped within 5 business days. Please allow 4-6 weeks for custom orders and sets.

Custom order inquiries can be made by contacting me at wiggins.ceramics@gmail.com. A 50% non-refundable deposit will be required to begin work, with the balance due prior to shipping. A 15% discount will be applied to orders of 4 or more pieces. (Please note: wood-fired and soda-fired ware are not available for sets.)

returns and exchanges

While all sales are final, I am committed to 100% customer satisfaction. Should an issue arise and you would like to make an exchange, please contact me at wiggins.ceramics@gmail.com within 15 days of receipt so that the issue can be resolved.

clay

All pieces, unless otherwise indicated, are executed in porcelain. I like porcelain for functional ware because it is particularly durable. This is due to its density when fired to maturity (approx. 2400 degrees). The uniformity of particle size and high silica to clay ratio give it a glass-like character. The primary clay, kaolin, has a high proportion of calcium carbonate, a powerful flux at high temperatures, which contributes to its excellent fusion of clay and silica, and thus its durability.
